Project – TiltViewer Extended

A while back while looking into opensource photogalleries. I came across Tiltviewer. It’s a Flash based photo gallery that covers the whole screen and runs from a simple gallery.xml file.

TiltViewer is a free, customizable 3D Flash image viewing application. The gallery has many cool features such as integration with Flickr has tags and Google Picasa. However there didn’t seem to be an easy way of storing images locally on a server. For example if you wanted to set up a private gallery that only certain people can view such as customers of a photography business or friends and families.

GYMP Media so far have set a structure for a suitable database and created a Server-Side script that generates an XML file. We will be progressively working on this over the following months.

The long awaited 2010 Groovin The Moo Music Festival was a huge hit among music lovers. With a crowd of 15, 000 turning up. The event has been running for 3 years. Public transport was uliised for the even with Townsville Sunbus putting on extra buses for the event.

GTM is North Queensland’s largest music festival.

The event was delayed due to bands being delayed in the small country town of Bendigo, Victoria. The delay was due to the loading of more than 10 tonne of luggage onto planes.

The venue changed locations from previous years where it was located at the Murray Skate park. This year GTM moved into it’s new home at the Townsville Cricket Grounds.

GTM allows for locals to see bands that often don’t come to Townsville due to costs and expected crowd turn outs.

”I think there should be a lot more festivals like this in Townsville and the Whitsundays area because everyone has a good time,” the 22-year-old said. Townsville Bulletin

Nicholas a Townsville cyclist said, “It was unbelievable the amount of people who were catching public transport to Groovin the Moo. It meant people could be safe traveling to the event and people not going to the event could continue on with minimal traffic delays and congestion.”

The bands that performed ranged from Silverchair, Grinspoon, Kisschasy, The Only and Empire of the Sun.

Rural and Remote Education

A video I made for a subject at JCU ED1401. Was created in under 2.5 hours. Not bad if you ask me.. Although, I made it. Heaps of Internet statistics about rural education in the busy. More information check out the video for it.

A big thanks to Roco43 who is a youtuber that has added several videos of Australia’s outback.

Rural and remote students comprising one third of all school pupils. Only 17% of that proportion attend tertiary education.

Over half of all state schools in Queensland are located in rural and remote areas. Approximately 121, 520 students are enrolled in these schools. This accounts for 24.8% of the total student population. (DETA, 2008)

The figures in rural education are continuing to grow unless a good framework is selected and taught.

Parliament House – Canberra (Australia)

Two Steps From Home – Video from the Concert

Two Steps performed live at Youth With a Mission in Townsville on Ingham Road. They did a great job performing all the songs on their EP. GYMP Media are currently in the process of editing all the footage and hope to have a DVD produced over the coming weeks. The DVD will feature each of the band’s songs.
